The future of Music
I don't necessarily feel sorry for all the majors which are loosing a lot of money right now because we buy less and less CD's but I feel for musicians and artits and I have two very interesting pieces of news.
Daft Punk, (Myspace Daft Punk page here) one of my favorite bands said recently in an interview that the real job of bands was to perform and they have decided to focus their activities on great live shows. Their new album which will be out shortly will be a recording of their last concert in Paris Bercy. I totally agree with them.
Radiohead, decided to sell their latest album directly to their fans online (without any major interference) and I just bought it yesterday. Besides the fact that the album is very good (good mix of rock and ballads) the way to purchase it online is just great and very simple: You go to their website, your order the digital album and you pay the amount that you deem fair (I paid 10 euros). Just the way it should be!!!
Music is not dead! On the contrary it might just be reborn now!
